It means if you speed, you will be shot down by a predator UAV.

They have heli's and other small aircraft flying along the major roads. But the back roads are sooooo damn fun. Perfectly smooth, lots of altitude change, lots of twisties, all two lane through the thick woods, and are pretty much redone every year. Cruising around in my grandfathers crown vic with the police cruiser package is so fun. I wish i could bring my my subie out there for the summers when i'm working out there, but its kind of impractical...

I have a Escort 8500 X50, it's worked great for me. A majority of cops around salt lake use KA band radar. The nice thing about that is you will get very few falses on that band. I have picked up K band in some smaller towns. So you'll want a detector that works well for that.

Laser detection isn't so important, it's very hard to pick up, and if your detector does pick it up, you're probably screwed anyway. I recently saw laser being used on I-15 last week, first time I've seen it. Laser jammers are illegal in utah unfortunately, otherwise I'd have one.

Check out http://www.guysoflidar.com/ for some tests.

I would stay away from Cobra, they're cheap for a reason. Also the Rocky Mountain radar "jammer" is nothing but a scam. There are no passive jammers that work, period.

And when you do get one, mount it properly. Don't be one of those fools that have the damn thing pointing to the sky.

Yeah that's what you mentioned on the cruise. Sky cops are the ones you have to worry about though
It seems as though Escort and beltronics are the most suggested. I will look into each model and see what I come up with. :D

I have the Beltronics 946 Cordless and its worked well for me in the 6 years i've owned it. Gives off a few false alarms, but after a while you notice that where it goes off that that is a false area.

mine has saved me multiple times. I dont speed that much maybe 10 or 15 over on the freeway but it definitely gives you peace of mind.

Passport Escort 8500 is great.

I have a Valetine One now because it was built into the car. It is awesome!!

Laser is just lazer tag. you get hit, detector goes off, it really just gives you a head star to work to the shoulder.

Did you guys ever look into that VEIL coating for your headlights? I considered doing it but never did. Its like a tint or something for your headlights and decreases the lasers effective range by 50% or so it claims. It makes some sense since they usually aim the laser at the most reflective parts of the front of your car (ie headlights and license plate). Thoughts?
