you can run a weak mixture of methanol (some use peak windsheild washer fluid thats pretty weak) but for the most out of it a tune is required

I'm not looking for power. I'm looking for knock resistance. I REALLY can't afford to pop a motor out at miller, and again, brendon's ordeal was a wake up call...

the thing is you can still tune for it but not turn your boost up and keep it stock and still get the knock protection but it will still feel stock if you want or you can turn the boost up a lil bit

ok so i consulted with my friend and he said you can still run the methanol injection and not tune for it you would just run like a 10% methanol to 90% distilled water mix and you would still get the preventive measure but not have to tune

Ive seen people run meth without tuning....But not sure how good of an idea it is.

As far as these kits go, they look nice. But they are in dire need of some type of fail safe. Unless I am not seeing anything..

im still on my first motor and what do you mean fail safe? you can wire in a on off switch if you want and if you want to  they have a solinoid that stops meth from entering like when it doesnt spray

by a failsafe he means something that will prevent detonation should the system at some point fail

on mine there is a lil led bulb that lights up when it is spraying so i guess if somthing goes wrong with the pump then the led wont light up so i would then check to see if there was a problem as for it running dry you can wire in a sensor in the tank that wires up to another led or gauge if you want to go the pricey route that lets you know when your tank is low or getting low i almost check my tank as much as i check my oil but if you dont get on it alot then you dont use anything so you know in your mind that its full. my tune on my car is tuned for the meth so if i ran it without meth you can pretty much guarantee that ill start detonating like a sob when i get on it full throttle but if you run a weak mix of meth and run it not tuned for it then all its going to do is help prevent the detonation so if that system runs dry then its just like it is stock without meth so no harm should be done unless you run it hard then after its empty

Still all the alot of the companys that have a meth kit usually have a fail safe. blown motors are no good! :thud:

not really my buddie bought the coooling mist water/meth kit and it came with pretty much the same stuff as this kit did no fail safe. there are silinoids you can buy that prevent the water/meth from entering unless you want it too but if your tuned for water meth and dont spray anything and run wot alot your going to blow that makes sense so i guess then the best fail safe for what you all are tallking about would be to wire in a sensor and led that lights up when the tank gets low thus reminded you to fill it back up but if you tune for it you have to run it untill you retune for no meth you can run meth and not tune you would just run like 90/10 mix still get the same preventiveness but not make much more power with it then if you ran out of meth it would be ok cus your car wouldent be expecting it mine dont spray till 8psi so i can drive around all day and keep it under 7psi and never spray no harm done

and all the safe parts that you might be talking about are extra cost they dont come with the kit

that's the whole point of the fail-safe. my kit will cut fuel and boost and give me a CEL if my pickup goes dry. there is also a light on the injection gauge that will show if you are low or not. no guessing, no questions, no blown up sht.

aquamist > twisted injection and cooling mist

yeah the aquamist kits are sick and come with the flow gauge :headbang: but this kit doesent im sure if you want i could get the gauge and throw it in for a extra 200+ i bet but you could get a sensor mount in tank then just wire up a led to it like he said you know when it gets low so you fill thus no blown up shiii plus there is a few people running around with this kit and they have yet to blow up oh and isant the aqua mist kit like helllllla expensive 600 bucks for the one with the gauge
