Looking to get a keyless entry atleast, if not a complete alarm with remote start and everything put in a 2007 Kia Sportage. I can provide the parts or buy them from you. Let me know prices.

Hey, keyless with all the goodies will be no problem for that vehicle.

Basic keyless systems could be as low as about a hundred bucks with the ultimate long range, twoway communicating security and remote start systems topping out aroud 6.. Give or take.

We can mix and match features to pit you anywhere inbetween those two figures.

I'm in southern California for another week and i'll put together a few package prices for you :-)

Let me know. I'm not worried about ultimate stuff, but the girlfriend would atleast like keyless. It already has power locks so adding keyless should be cake.

Have fun in socal and thanks for the response.

You gotta love coming home from sunny, 80 degree days to a snowstorm...

Unreal, plan on like $99 plus tax installed for keyless entry. Let me know when you'd like it done!

Unreal, what kind of car? Auto or Manual?
You can be anywhere between $200 and $800 depending on vehicle, features, options etc.
I usually sell Viper, Python, Ungo etc... only quality systems that are solid and reliable.

i am currently pricing out basic alarm systems for an 05 legacy with auto trans and keyless entry already. what i want with it is a more sensitive shock sensor and a glass break sensor wired so i can use the stock remotes with it. what would be the approximate cost with and without remote start?

I probably should post a little about remote starts on manual transmissions.

In the past, there was no real safe way to install a remote start system on a manual transmission vehicle. Lots of guys just 'always' leave their car in neutral, using a standard remote start system. This works fine for most people most of the time. However, every person I've ever met, even if he works for a stereo shop, eventually forgets just that one time... and crashes their car into a wall, a ditch, a fence, another car.....

Some shops will install systems like that if a customer asks them to, but for liability and safety reasons, I never will.

There is now a way to safely install a remote start system on a manual transmission. It involves tying into the brake pedal, clutch pedal and parking brake and a module with a special set up procedure you perform when turning off the car. This completely solves the safety issue, but always adds between $100 - $200 to the price of the remote start system. Strangely, it's more expensive to set up the manual mode on basic systems than it is on the full featured long range security systems because the basic systems require a separate module while the top of the line systems often have the functionality built-in.

So really, on a manual trans, even a "cheap" remote start system with no transponder bypass is going to run you at minimum $350 or so installed. Top of the line systems with long range, 2-way communication, security, keyless entry, turbo timers and manual transmission remote start will top out around $700 installed. It usually makes more sense to bundle lots of the features together... you get more for your money that way.

Like the original post said, 2007 Kia Sportage Automatic.

Hmm, never knew remote start could go on a manual now. How much for a remote start/alarm on a 2007 Legacy Spec B?
