I am running a stage 1 map on my accessport. I have not been able to hit target boost so I wanted to change my map to the stage 1 hwg map. I install the latest version of the ap manager on my comp, as well as update the ap. When I go to my car and plug in and turn the key to the on position it says "dongle cannot be updated in the field please contact cobb tech support". Any idea on what I did wrong here and what I need to do to fix it?

if you're installing a base map you need to be in test mode. I don't know if you are or not, but it's what popped into my head when I read that.

sounds to me like it messed up when you were updating it, like you didnt eject it properly or took it out before it was done

but please explain some more what you are doing exactly...

Okay. I'll explain what I'm doing:
I installed stage 1 map maybe a month ago. I'm not hitting target boost so I downloaded the stage 1 91 hwg map (high waste gate) It's a map made for people not hitting target boost, and I wanted to load this map. I updated the accessport + the accessport manager. I load the map on to the accessport and go out to my car to install the map and it says dongle cannot be updated in the field please contact tech support. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

ALso, keep in mind there is a table in the ecu called- Boost Compensation (atmosphere).
This table compensates for changes in elevation. You won't hit the same boost heree you would at sea level. my stage 2 fxt would only hit 13.9 psi ( target boost was 14.9). I would recomend getting the street tuner sofware (free from cobb right now) and you can adjust this compensation. Just make sure you have the help of some one who knows their way around an ecu.
