Ok so ive been try to research this and still have some questions. Im looking to put some 4pots on my bugeye and i know you can get the 06/07 calipers but i thought you could also use legacy or forester calipers? Anyone have any info on this? Any specific year or model i need to be looking for that would have a oem 4pot?

Forester calipers are the same as WRX, and Leggy calipers are still 2 pot.

No, there's always the Racing Brake BBK :D

I've never had issues with the stock calipers. Better rotors, pads, fluids, and lines have made a huge difference in combating brake fade. However, the 4 pots really look nice and offer better feel.

it depends why you want to upgrade. THE biggest factor in shedding heat is rotor size, provided you have decent pads and fluid. For casual aggressive driving, the 06-07 4 pots will be great, but for heavy track use (I don't know if that's what you want to do) the 06-07 4pots aren't going to be a whole lot better because they use basically the same rotor size

^^^ I think the rotor size was slightly larger on the 06-07 WRXS.... but with that said..... I've tracked my 4-pots at the 20-minute sessions during the lap battle.

My red calipers with white writing???

are now pink calipers with brown writing.

The abuse was too much. And I was using racing pads, steel braided lines, and racing fluid.

Thats why I'm sticking to 1-lap at a time events from now on. Anything more.... you really need Brembos or better.

^^^haha yeah I've heard even the Brembo's can discolor sometimes. Hence the nickname Brownbos.

the red evo brembo's are notorious for fading. not sure why... i haven't seen many sti brembo's fade though.

sti > evo :D

One of these days I'll upgrade to a BBK...... one of these days--LOL

I actually like the 355mm 6-piston Rotora kit... well priced, and REALLY nice looking... and BIIIIIIG

I like Rotora's too. The only downside that I've come across is that rebuild kits and replacement pads and whatnot are pretty much impossible to find from any stateside dealer, unless I just haven't found the right one yet. That's the only thing that would stop me from going with Rotoras.

If you go that route you might need to invest in some spare parts. Just in case you know....?

Be careful. Chances are they haven't balanced that setup AT ALL to the stock master cylinder and rear brakes, and you will probably end up lengthening your stopping distances. Brakes are a tricky tricky thing, and there is a reason why alcon, stoptech, brembo, and the like fetch such a pretty penny.

In my eyes, the stock systems are perfect with a little basic upgrading (pads, lines, fluid, rotors).
If you need anything bigger, the only real option would be the Stoptech kits. Most anything else is bling.

Well there are brembo's as well, but they will cost you an arm and a leg...

I just can't justify the price for the Brembos. If you want to spend the $$, go StopTech.
