i took my car to a mechanic and he said that my wheel bearing are fine and pretty much everything down in that general area is good... he did tell me that my break caliper was loose and he couldnt tighten it. you can wiggle it just a tiny bit. he did tell me my struts were bad and one of my strut mounts were bad. so i replaced those and the scraping sound happens every now and again.

some times when i hit the breaks ill hear a click and then it will grind so i dont know whats up any help would be appreciated.

it doesnt do it all the time just every now and then, and the mechanic i took it to is a local friend so i know he isnt trying to screw me

Yes your pad was rubbing against the rotor. I wouldn't go back to him if he refused to tighten a caliper.

I think i would be much, MUCH more worried about my caliper not being affixed to my car appropriately.

i don't know exactly what he meant by a "loose" caliper, but being able to wiggle it a little is normal, so long as the bolts attaching the caliper bracket to the knuckle are properly torqued. The "wiggle" allows for both brake pads to be engaged since there are only pistons on one side of the caliper on your car...the caliper is supposed to move a little on its slides.

No it was loose to the knuckle and that caused the alignment of pads-rotor to be off since the caliper was too far inboard...
