I put 8 mm spacers on my WRX and now my STi.

The wheels you have a key. For example stock 04 WRX wheels can only take a 1/8 inch 4 mm spacer. rota sub zeros and 04 STi BBS's will take a 1/4 inch 8 mm spacer wils 6 or more full turns so they are well on.

I think making sure you have enough turns, like 5 or more and using a torque wrench (I use 85 ft-lbs) are key.

I want long studs because then I could stack spacers forever. :)

Do you know where they are located? I tried looking it up and wasn't sure if I am getting the right place.

How would a spacer make your car ride worth shiz or not be centered? the lugz put it where it needs to be... unless you tighten one to much and bring it on a bind and make it off set then the wheel will be jacked up?

Wheel dude has spacers. If anyone needs 'em, I have 3mm spacers that I thought I might need, but don't.
